TNT Motorcycles, Himalayan Latitude 440
What Royal Enfield did for the Scram 440, done on a Himalayan 411: about 1–2 bhp and 1–2 Nm more, and a 6th gear, which fixes the 411’s biggest weakness on the highway. Built with official RE parts.
Rough price: ≈ ₹45,000
TNT Latitude package 1: 440 cc displacement and a 6th gear, including GST.
-
K&N
Hidden inside the airbox. Fitted together with the engine conversion.
Rough price: ≈ ₹7,000
-
Way2Speed tubeless kit
The stock spoked rims, converted to tubeless with the Way2Speed kit, on new tubeless tyres.
Rough price: ≈ ₹14,000 + tyres ≈ ₹8,000
Tubeless treatment of both stock rims, plus a new pair of tubeless tyres fitted at the same time.
-
Art of Motorcycles
The stock bar felt too far away. Ordered online, it arrived in 4–5 days and a nearby garage fitted it. A perfect fit for my height, and more confidence and control.
Rough price: ≈ ₹2,000
Art of Motorcycles “Royal Enfield Himalayan 411 Handlebar”.
-
RE Black Tapered Mirrors, or DoubleTake
The stock mirrors leave too many blind spots.
Rough price: RE ≈ ₹5,000 · DoubleTake ≈ ₹14,000–15,000
RE Black Tapered Mirrors (part KXA00276): aluminium stems, teardrop shape, 3-year warranty; RE lists them for the Himalayan 440. Or the DoubleTake Adventure Mirror Kit, which has to come from abroad.
-
Vaishnu Lights
The stock headlight is practically useless on the highway at night. No fog lights for me: they stick out and aren’t allowed in many places.
Rough price: ≈ ₹10,000–17,000
Vaishnu LED touring headlights for the Himalayan and Scram 411, e.g. Style B with a warm-white DRL. The price depends on the model.
-
Royal Enfield Black Touring Rider Seat
After about 50 km the stock seat sinks and you can feel the metal base underneath.
Rough price: ≈ ₹3,000
RE Black Touring Rider Seat (part 1990208): 3D net padding to spread the weight, non-slip cover, about a 10-minute fit. RE lists it for the Himalayan 440.
-
Vesrah
The front brake bite is soft and progressive. Giving it time first; I may get used to it.
Rough price: ≈ ₹1,000–2,000
Vesrah ceramic pads for the Himalayan / Scram 411 (e.g. SD-953 for the rear), made in Japan. Stock pads are about ₹300–400.
-
Royal Enfield Black Compact Engine Guards
Swap the big stock guard for RE’s compact one that only protects the engine. The bike is heavy enough already.
Rough price: ≈ ₹1,500
RE Black Compact Engine Guards (part 1990204): 22 mm mild-steel tube, black powder coat, 3-year warranty. RE lists them for the Himalayan 440 and Scram 440 / 411.
-
YSS, front and rear
Stock is comfy on city roads but dives under braking and feels unsettled over potholes at 100+. Front and rear have to be done together.
Rough price: ≈ ₹50,000+
YSS fork upgrade kit for the 411 Himalayan plus the YSS rear shock for the 411 Himalayan and Scram, front and rear together. Found at a UK shop, so shipping and import duty come on top.
The story
- Late 2023
The adventure-bike itch gets serious. The Himalayan 411 is already discontinued, and the 450 is on its way.
- Then
Test ride of the Himalayan 450: loved it, but ≈ ₹4 lakh on-road plus gear didn’t fit the budget. Same story with the KTM 390 Adventure. The Scram 440 has a great engine, but it isn’t an adventure bike.
- 2026
TNT Motorcycles announces the Himalayan Latitude 440. A long Instagram DM, a phone call the same day, and the hunt starts.
- 2026
A 2022 Himalayan 411 is found in Delhi on OLX, inspected by TNT and bought for ₹1.65 lakh. TNT converts it and ships it to Guwahati.
- First 500 km
